They blew it with some of the worst management I have ever seen. It had the potential to give Belkin a strategic upper hand in what could be a massive market. You are right though, the n52te is an exciting piece of equipment. Think about that for a second, and the massive incompetence necessary to bring about that situation.

No backlight color selection, just blue (although a very nice blue) I recently purchased a left-handed device (Belkin N52te) and tried to use it.Fewer keys - 14 + 1 thumb key (space bar) compared to the G13's 22.Great clicky feeling on key presses, not too hard or soft.Adjustable wrist rest and removable D-pad cap.Extremely comfortable and natural feeling ergonomic design.Lack of adjustability, one size fits all.I tried one out on display at a store, and the keypresses felt pretty soft.Relatively plain design, not as comfortable.

22 programmable keys, plus a thumb joystick and two thumb buttons.Besides, the blue backlighting matches my DeathAdder perfectly. And it's backed by Razer technology, which has never failed me. I opted for this instead of the G13 just because it seems more form-fitting to the left hand, which I like. The N52TE has 15 keys plus an 8-way D-pad, a scroll wheel, and a thumb button, though, which is still plenty for me. The only reason I was considering it was because it has more keys. No other configuration is necessary.Īfter the various controls on the n52te are linked to the virtual joystick's controls through building blocks, applications that receive input from the virtual joystick will respond to its controls when the corresponding n52te controls are used.It's fantastic. The Button building blocks for the up, down, left, and right arrow keys are attached to the "FWD", "BACK", "LEFT", and "RIGHT" inputs on the View Hatswitch Setup block respectively. These are setup to control the hatswitch on the virtual joystick using a View Hatswitch Setup building block. The n52te "hatswitch" acts like the standard arrow keys on a keyboard. The last task is to use the "hatswitch" on the n52te to control the hatswitch on the virtual joystick. The increment size can be changed based on the needs of the application that is watching the virtual joystick. The Counter building block is setup to count between "0" and "255" in increments of "8". These settings have the effect of converting a repeated ON value from the Range building block into a very quick ON/OFF combination to trigger the Counter building blocks inputs. The Pulse building blocks are setup with a duration of 0.0s and have their anytime the input updates and is ON option turned on. This allows them to trigger the Pulse building blocks even if their outputs are already ON. They both have their Report new output values only option turned off. In this setup, the Range building blocks are each configured to detect when the scroll wheel on the n52te turns in one direction or the other.
